The Exciting Culture of Spain

Spain holds a lot of excitement within its borders and many people choose to visit here because of what it has to offer. To the breathtaking beaches of Costa Del Sol to the fun filled skiing in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, one can find just about anything to do and experience. In fact one can actually enjoy some time on the beach, pack up and head only 2 hours away to snow covered mountains for skiing.

Spain is well known for its street performers as well as its architecture, sculptures, the exquisite handmade crafts and gold jewellery, not to mention the artwork. There are many different sports to enjoy her as well such as bicycling, soccer and bullfighting being the most favored. There is also basketball and golf as well.

Currency in Spain in the Euro and most of its cities only except this form of currency so it is advised to exchange your foreign currency before arriving. Take note, however, that credit cards are excepted and you can find numerous ATMs around.

There are a number of different languages spoken in Spain with the national language being Castilian (similar to a Roman language and is commonly referred to as Spanish). Over 600,000 Spanish people also speak Euskera.

There are several traditions in Spain with the Spanish siesta being the most important. Siesta is held between 1:30pm and 5:00pm. People partake in heavy lunch and nap.

Art enthusiasts will be amazed of what Spain has to offer. In fact, some of the most talented artists such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali and El Greco lived in Spain. Their work can be found all over the country in Churches of the Prado and Toledo.

Fine food and cuisines can be found in Spain. One particular appetizer well know here is called the Tapa which can be found in restaurants, taverns and sidewalk cafe. These appetizers consist of Spanish cheeses and meat and in some cases, pastries. Other foods enjoyed here are fresh seafood, meats, vegetables and spices.

There is so much to see and do in Spain and traveling here can make a world of difference during your vacation or holiday.
